JABS!!!

19th June-

I had a somewhat unsuccessful appointment with the travel nurse today; basically I am going on a family holiday on the 21st for a week, so am unable to get half of the recommended jabs as the course is day 0, 7 and 28.
I came away with a booster for Hep A, partial protection for Hep B and luckily, I am still 'in date' for Typhoid and Tetanus from previous holidays!
So I didn't get the jabs for Rabies and Japanese Encephalitis or the medication for Malaria. At first I was a little worried, with the nurse dropping one liners such as possible 'brain swelling' and 'blood clots,' my mind began to wonder. Yet, after doing some research and talking to Del, I learnt that one in one million travellers got Japanese E. last year- Del has only ever seen two dogs with rabies after living in Thailand for FIFTEEN YEARS, and malaria is extremely uncommon (poor Cheryl Cole.)
I also saved more than £250- winner! (hopefully)

Jokes aside, I will be looking very closely for a good travel insurance deal, reading allll of that lovely little small print- inside out and back to front! And staying away from dogs frothing at the mouth- not a good look.
